Darleen Marie Jose age 68 of Smithville and a native of Michigan passed away Tuesday morning, October 18, 2016 at her residence in the Keltonburg Community.  She was born September 2, 1948 to her parents, the late Julius and Helen DeNeve Verhoy.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Frank, Tommy, Ritchie and Donny Verhoy.  Darleen was a Catholic, worked in window assembly and was a beautician.  Survivors include her husband of 46 years, David Jose of Smithville; 4 children, Deborah Jorgensen of Smithville, Donna Dyment, David Jose, Jr., and Danielle Tamachaski all of Michigan; 5 grandchildren; 2 great-granddaughters and 1 sister, Suzan Jacobs of Michigan.  Her family has honored her request to be cremated and a Memorial Service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, October 21, 2016 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel.  Visitation with the family will be on Friday 1:PM until the time of the services at 2:PM.  In addition to flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Keltonburg Cemetery Fund in memory of Darleen.  DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
