Genevieve Billings Vickers age 89 of Smithville, passed away Monday evening, November 7, 2016 at her residence of an extended illness.  She was born December 22, 1926 to her parents, the late Charlie and Ollie Pack Billings.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Doris Vickers.  Ms. Genevieve was a member of the Smithville First Baptist Church, Avon Sales Lady, former secretary with the Corp of Engineers and Smithville Electric and worked part-time at Sligo Boat Dock. Survivors include her son, Jimmie D. "Butch" Vickers, Jr. and wife, Sandra of Smithville; 3 grandchildren, Cory Vickers, Tisha Burns and Melanie Johnston; 2 great-grandchildren, Dylan Burns and Hannah Groshon; caregivers, Linda Thomas, Linda Knowles, Ashley Perry and Vickie Dial.  Funeral services will be conducted 2:PM Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Bill Robertson officiating and interment to follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens.  Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday 1:PM until the time of the service at 2:PM.  In addition to flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Smithville First Baptist Church, Lighthouse Christian Camp or to the charity of your choice, in memory of Ms. Genevieve.  DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
