Helen Stanley age 88 of Dowelltown passed away Monday evening April 3, 2017 at St. Thomas DeKalb Hospital, ER.  She was born September 21, 1928, to her parents the late Cleveland and Carrie Summers Taylor.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, L.D. Stanley; Daughter, Wanda Wallace; Grandson, Jamie Webb; Brothers, Grady and Ralph Taylor; Sisters, Virginia Hendrixson, Irene Judkins, Ellen Hendrixson, Lena  Maynard. Ms. Stanley was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Herman Baptist Church. She is survived by her sons, Larry (Phyllis) Stanley of Dowelltown, and Dennis (Donna) Stanley of Smithville; Grandsons, Tracy Stanley, Steve (Jessica) Stanley, Daniel Stanley; Granddaughter, Jennifer (Ricky) Quinn; Step-Granddaughters, Jessica Ferrell, Felicia McPeak, Christie Ferrell, and Cissie Self; 15 Great-Grandchildren; Sister, Margaret (Earl) Vanatta of Dowelltown, brother-in-law, Edward Maynard of Dowelltown; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be Thursday, 11A.M.,April 6,2017 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Michael Hale officiating, burial will follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday 2:PM until 8:PM and Thursday 9:AM until the time of the service at 11:AM. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
