James Joseph Knox age 57 of Dowelltown, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.  He was born March 14, 1960 to his parents, the late James Edward Knox and Phyllis Adair Knox Thompson.  He was a Baptist.  Survivors include 2 children, Jessica Nicole Hernandez and James Joseph Knox, Jr.; 3 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Bobby Knox of Dowelltown; 1 sister, Sherry Carroll of Smithville; 1 half-sister, Melissa Knox Cavendar of Ona, WV; several nieces and nephews also survive.  The family has chosen a direct cremation and no services will be held.  DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
