Jimmy Dodd age 78 of Liberty passed away Thursday morning, August 11, 2016 at his residence.  He was born December 9, 1937 to his parents, the late Roy and Nell Groom Dodd.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Terry Dodd and 2 sisters, Jean and Martha Dodd.  Jimmy was a member of Salem Baptist Church, retired from TDOT and was retired from Tennessee National Guard with 25 years service.  He is survived by his wife of 58 years, June Dodd of Liberty; 1 son, Todd (Kathy) Dodd of Liberty; grandson, Ryan Dodd of Liberty; sister, Debbie (Victor Lee) McMillen of Alexandria; special nephew, Chad Mathis; several nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Bobbie (Billy) Curtis and Darlene Mathis; brothers-in-law, Dwight (Shirley) Mathis, Gary (Judy) Mathis and Stevie Mathis.  Funeral services will be conducted 1:PM Saturday, August 13, 2016 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Mark Wade and Bro. Josh Brown officiating and burial to follow in Salem Cemetery.  Visitation with the family will be on Friday 1:PM until 8:PM and Saturday 11:AM until the time of the service at 1:PM.  In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to Salem Cemetery in memory of Jimmy.  DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
