Timothy Reed Young

Timothy Reed Young age 61 of Smithville, passed away Saturday afternoon April 20, 2024, at his residence.  He was born August 11, 1962, to his parents, Thomas Young and the late Beulah May "Fay" Sandlin Young.  In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by grandparents, Paul and Ruth Caplinger Sandlin, James Monroe and Edith Evans Young.  Tim was a quality technician at Star Mfg. and faithful member of Pomeroy Chapel Brethren in Christ Church.  He is survived by his wife, Karen Young of Smithville; father, Thomas Young of Smithville; son, Jessie (Megan) Anderson of Gallatin; 2 grandsons, Dylan Anderson and Lane Anderson; aunts, Geneva (Tommy) Taylor of Smithville and Peggy (Gary) Blankenship of Cane Creek; uncle, Grady (Linda) Young of Houston, Texas and several cousins.  Funeral services will be 3:PM Wednesday April 24, 2024, at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Bryan Jones and Bro. Bernard Houk officiating and burial to follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday 5:PM until 7:PM and Wednesday 1:PM until the time of the service at 3:PM.  In addition to flowers, the family asks that donations be made to either the Shriner's or St. Jude Hospitals in memory of Tim.  DeKalb Funeral Chapel is honored to care for the Young family.
