Carmella (Ferrell) Chalfant

Carmella Chalfant age 47 of Dowelltown, passed away Wednesday morning, December 4, 2019 at St. Thomas DeKalb Hospital ER.  She was born October 23, 1972 in Smithville.  Carmella was a Homemaker and attended Buckner's Chapel United Methodist Church.  She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Donny Chalfant of Dowelltown; son, Axyl (Sydney) Chalfant of Smithville; 2 grandsons, Tristan and Jaxson; mother, Annie Estell Ferrell and Wallace Cooper of Smithville; 1 brother, Delane (Kay) Lawson of Smithville.  The family has honored Carmella's request to be cremated.  A memorial service will be held 2:PM Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Phil Tollett officiating.  Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday 11:AM until the time of the service at 2:PM.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the DeKalb County Foster Children.  DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
