Katie Adcock age 92 of Smithville, passed away Friday morning, May 10, 2019 at NHC Smithville. She was born April 10, 1927 to her parents, the late Otis and Bessie Young Adcock. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 5 brothers, Jewel, Manuel, Ray, James and Franklin Adcock and a sister, Irene Adcock Turner. She was a member of the Mt. Hope The Baptist Church and a factory worker and caregiver. She is survived by 2 children, Jimmy (Marie) Luna and Carolyn Luna (Wallace) Caldwell both of Smithville; grandchildren, Kitty (Tony) Thomas, Tiffany Caldwell (Narrece Dowell), Mark Luna, Deborah Knowles France, Cynthia Knowles Carter; great-grandchildren, Xavier Dowell, Carly Thomas, Nataliyah Dowell, Hannah Luna, Dustin Hale, Josh Carter, Alicia Foster Walker, Matthew Foster and Payton France; 5 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Mitchell (Imogene) Adcock and Albert Adcock both of Smithville; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be 1:PM Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Wallace Caldwell officiating and burial will follow in Jefferson Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday 4:PM until 8:PM and Wednesday 9:AM until the time of the service at 1:PM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to DeKalb Funeral Chapel to help with funeral expenses, in memory of Ms. Katie. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
