Mark Steven Carter

Mark Carter age 64 of Smithville, passed away Friday night, April 26, 2019 at St. Thomas DeKalb Hospital ER.  He was born February 8, 1955 to his parents, the late Robert Dean and Mary Alice Burdsall Carter.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Derry Carter and Mike Cater.  Mark and his wife, Patty are the owners of Mark's Center Hill Pub and Patty's Restaurant.  He was also a construction worker, former member of AmVets and CM ABATE and was a Baptist.  He is survived by his wife, Patty Carter of Smithville; children, Mary Carter of Smithville, Lisa Sanchez of Murfreesboro, Todd Carter of Indiana, Holly Carter of Indiana, Jason Carter of Indiana, and Steve Carter of Indiana, 13 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 1 brother, Tim Carter of Indiana.  The family has honored Mark's request to be cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
