Mary Chapman Obituary

Mary Lou Chapman age 82 of Smithville, passed away Saturday night, December 8, 2018 at NHC HealthCare Center in Smithville. She was born November 7, 1936 to her parents, the late Jones Vernon and Mai Lawrence Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Chapman; sister, Marie Ferrell; 4 brothers, Willie, Frank, Isaac and Fred Johnson; half-sister, Callie Hughes. Mary was a Baptist and a homemaker. She is survived by 2 sisters, Jenny Herman of Smithville and Jo Helen Melton of La Vergne; special niece, Viva Johnson of Smithville; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 1:PM Wednesday December 12, 2018 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Michael Hale officiating and burial will follow in Hale Cemetery at Pea Ridge. Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday 12 Noon until 8:PM and Wednesday 10:AM until the time of the service at 1:PM. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
