Ruth Walker

Ms. Ruth Walker age 77, passed away September 30, 2019 at Signature Health Care of Putman County.  Ms. Walker was raised in Coffee County but has been a long time resident of Smithville.  She was born April 25, 1942 to her parents the late Ernest and Mattie Hayes Russ. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Cordell Walker;  sister, Pearl Wright; brothers, J. D. Stevens, Bill Stevens, and Leonard Russ. She was retired from Genesco and Texas Boot and a member of Taylor's Providence Baptist Church. Ms. Walker is survived by her daughters, Tina Taylor of Smithville, Kimberly Jones of Sparta; grandchildren, Skyelar Patrick, Keira Taylor, Derrick Jones, and Dustin Jones; great-grandchild, Lennox Milke; sisters-in-law, Delsie Stevens, and Donna Russ; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be 11:AM Friday October 4, 2019 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Bernard Houk officiating and burial will follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be Thursday 1:PM until 8:PM and on Friday 9:AM until the time of the service at 11:AM. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
