Thomas Joseph Sklenka

Thomas Joseph, better known as "Tom" Sklenka age 67 of Gassaway, passed away Sunday, January 19, 2020 at St. Thomas Stones River Hospital ER. He was born February 22, 1952 to his parents the late Thomas Edward and Florence Clara Pomianowski Sklenka. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Christine Zinchuck; brother, Ted Sklenka. Tom was self-employed, working in automation controls, served in the United States Navy and  grew up in the Catholic church. Mr. Sklenka is survived by his wife, Terry Lynn Sklenka of Gassaway; children, Toni Cole of Gassaway, Daniel (Storm) Sklenka of Woodbury, and Jennifer Sklenka and  (Amy) of Smithville; grandchildren, Jacy, Peyton, Kaylee, Karly, Carter, Madyson, and Caidyn; brothers, Jimmy Sklenka, Jerry Sklenka, and Steven Sklenka; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family has chosen direct cremation and a memorial service will be held at a later date. The family ask  memorial donations  be made to DeKalb Funeral Chapel to help with final expenses. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
