Anita Chapman age 66 of the Gassaway community of Liberty passed away Wednesday morning, December 31, 2025, at St. Thomas Midtown Hospital. She was born April 24, 1959, to her parents, the late William Franklin and Helen Marie Reece Golden. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Cheryl Ann Pascal; sister, Angela Darlene Golden; brother, Kenneth Ray Golden. Anita was a Methodist and factory worker. She is survived by her husband, Claude Chapman of Liberty; stepson, Jason Chapman of Smithville; two sisters, Janice (John) Cooper of West Virginia and Debbie Young (Jeff Rhea) of Smithville; two brothers, Wayne Golden of Clinton, TN and Billy (Brandy) Golden of Smithville; half-brother, Willie Bethel Golden of Smithville; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2 PM Saturday, January 3, 2026, at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Wilson Williams officiating and burial will follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday 4 PM until 7 PM and Saturday 10 AM until the time of the service at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to DeKalb Funeral Chapel to help with funeral expenses. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is honored to care for the Chapman family.
