Bertie Reeder Obituary

Bertie Ruth Reeder age 91 of Liberty was born January 11, 1935, at home in Smithville, and went home to be with her Lord on Saturday morning, May 30, 2026, at her home.  She was the daughter of the late William Forrest and Mattie Lee Jones Turner.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four children, Jo Ann, Regina, Terry Wayne and Billy Joe Reeder; grandson, Chad Reeder; two great-grandchildren, Trinity Summers and Austin Ray Nix. She retired from Ferodo and then worked for many years at Walmart and then lastly at Green Brook Park as a guard.  A woman that loved the Lord and was a member of the Smithville Church of God.  Bertie Ruth loved getting to talk with people and never met a stranger.  She never looked nor acted her age and would love when people commented on how young she looked.  She leaves to cherish a world of memories, four children, Danny Austin Reeder of Smithville, Barbara Ruth Reeder of Liberty, Forrest (Peggy) Reeder of Smithville and Donald Ray Reeder of Liberty; step-son, Jimmy Lloyd Reeder of Smithville; twelve grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren; special sister, Mary McCoy and former daughter-in-law, Susan Pullin and a host of friends.  Funeral services celebrating her life will be held 11 AM Friday, June 5, 2026, at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Chris Moore officiating and burial to follow in the Blackford-Reeder Cemetery.  Visitation will be Thursday 3 PM until 7 PM and Friday 9 AM until the time of the service at 11 AM.  DeKalb Funeral Chapel is honored to care for the Reeder family.
