Billy Joe Sandell

Billy Joe Sandell age 52, of Baxter passed away Wednesday May 6, 2026, at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville. He was born August 12, 1973, to his parents the late Sammy Joe and Georgia Lane Sandell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Elaine McGuire. Mr. Sandell worked as a Laborer, Loader Operator, Volunteer Fire-Fighter, Police Officer and First Responder. He is survived by his wife, Crystal Sandell of Baxter; children, Cooper Pendergres, Gracie Penderges; Dillyn (Alicia) Keith, Corey (Nicole) McCloud, Alyssa (Leah) Russell; grandchildren, Jayden Boyd, Kyrin Keith, Rylee Redmon, Weston Pendergres; sisters-in-law, Belinda Brock (Roy Murphy) of Alexandria, Stephanie (Joey) Redmon of Smithville; aunt, Patty Patton of Bledsoe County; several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. The family have honored Mr. Sandell's request to be cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family ask donations may be made to DeKalb Funeral Chapel to help with funeral expenses. DeKalb Funeral is honored to care for the Sandell family.
