Kenneth Lester Clayton
January 7, 1942 - August 13, 2025
Kenneth returned home to our heavenly father on August 13th 2025 surrounded by loved ones at the age of 83. Kenneth went to be with the love of his life, Ellen who went before. The two met in 1962 and were married one week later. The couple shared 61 years of marriage. Brother Kenneth Clayton served our Lord as a Preacher for over 50 years. He preached at several churches including Snows Hill, Webb's Chapel, Short Mountain, Faith Congregational, Church of the Last Days, Mt. Gilead, Kempville, Wartrace and countless others. Kenneth guided many souls to the love and light of Jesus Christ, and felt that was his true purpose on this earth. Kenneth had a significant impact on thousands of lives, especially as a youth minister. One of the most miraculous experiences Kenneth had as a preacher was during an intended four day revival that turned into 14 days. The revival led to the salvation of 44 people, the baptism of 15 people, and the calling of 3 people to preach. Kenneth carried a news article of the event in his wallet for nearly 50 years. Kenneth was a member of the Free Masons, a motorcycle enthusiast, and member of the Christian Motorcycle Association. He was also a US Army Veteran.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents Floyd Clayton and Edith Davis Clayton Seals and step father, Roy Seals; his loving wife Ellen Clayton; daughter Lynn Green; sisters, Rebecca Clayton Pedigo and Brenda Trapp. Kenneth is survived by his children Craig Clayton, Edie Brown, Ronda Butler, Kenneth Clayton Jr. and Daniel Clayton. He is also survived by Ashley Hawkins, Jason Brown, Stephenee Clayton, Leslie Watson, Madison Butler, Paxton Butler, Jesse Smith, Joshua Certian, Crystal Kiefer, Lindsey Brown, Kenneth Clayton III, Kayla Clayton, Amanda Jones, Skylar Moore, Cash Clayton, and Mason Clayton; 18 great-grandchildren; sister, Debra Miller; brother, Perry (Dana) Clayton. Kenneth was a loving father, papa, and great grandfather. His love, kindness, generosity, and memory will forever be cherished in our hearts.
