Carolyn Dean (Merriman) Agee

Carolyn Dean Agee age 71 of Smithville was born December 22, 1954, and went home to be with her Lord on Friday, July 17, 2026, at St. Thomas DeKalb Hospital.  She was the daughter of the late J.E. and Georgia Melton Merriman.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Sue Osment.  Carolyn was a faithful member of the Mt. Pisgah Freewill Baptist Church.  She was a factory worker, having worked at Georgia Girl until 1983, at which time she stayed home to care for her family and loved ones.  She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 51 years, Jimmy Agee of Smithville; son, Brian Agee of Augusta, GA; daughter, Rachel (Trent) Phipps of Smithville; grandson, Lucas Phipps and grand dog, Maze; two brothers, Eddie (Angela) Merriman and Mike (Myra) Merriman both of Smithville; sister, Patricia (Donnie) Canerdy of Alabama along with several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be 2 PM Monday, July 20, 2026, at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bros. Danny Bandy and Bernard Houk officiating and burial will follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens.  Visitation with the family will be on Sunday 1 PM until 8 PM and Monday 10 AM until the time of the service at 2 PM.  In addition to flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Mt. Pisgah Freewill Baptist Church in memory of Carolyn.  DeKalb Funeral Chapel is honored to care for the Agee family.
