Clayton Moore Obituary

Clayton Allen Moore age 42 of Smithville passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2025. He was born January 11, 1983, in Murfreesboro, TN. Clayton was the beloved son of Robert and Helen Moore, and a cherished friend to many. He grew up with a deep love for the outdoors. He found peace and joy in nature, whether it was casting a line on the water or heading into the woods for a hunt. His passion for outdoors was where he created many lasting memories with family and friends. He was a proud graduate of DCHS in 2001 and a 2006 graduate of Tennessee Tech with a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife and Fishery. Of all his accomplishments, Clayton was most proud of being a father. He leaves behind his two sons, Preston Robert and Hunter Allen Moore. He cherished every moment with them. Clayton will be remembered for his big heart, adventurous spirit and the way he could make anyone feel like family. His presence will be deeply missed but forever cherished by those who knew him. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Moore; grandparents, Clay and Annie Ruth Bain, Joe Allen and Joe Dean Moore. He is survived by his mother, Helen Moore of Smithville; 2 sons Preston and Hunter Moore; special aunt, Pauline Braswell; special cousin, Shaundra Smith and her children Isaac & Ian Smith; Uncles, Harold Bain, Cleveland (Diane) Bain, Earlie Bain; aunts, Annie Mai Walker, Tammy (Mike) Owen, Ellen Southard, Brenda (Michael) Kingsbury, Wanda (Buddy) Wiggs; several cousins also survive. Funeral service will be 2:PM Sunday, September 14, 2025, at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Michael Hale officiating and burial to follow in Hale Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday 10: AM until the time of the service at 2: PM. Family and Friends are welcome to gather to honor the memory of a life loved deeply.  In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to DeKalb Funeral Chapel to help with funeral expenses.  DeKalb Funeral Chapel is honored to care for the Moore family.
