Curtis Lee Rust

Curtis Lee Rust age 69 of Smithville, passed away Saturday morning, August 31, 2024 at NHC HealthCare in Smithville.  He was born June 28, 1955 to his parents, the late Curtis and Minnie Dorthy Ray Rust.  He was retired from DeKalb Farmer's CO-OP and a U.S. Army Veteran having served in Vietnam.  Mr. Curt was a lifetime member of the AM Vets.  He is survived by his wife, Sharon Rust of Smithville; daughters, Terese Pena of Russell Springs, KY and Sherri (Bobby) Prater of Cookeville; son, Ryan (Sasha) Rust of Arizona; grandchildren, Korrin Therrien, Sienna Prater and Elena Prater; brother, John (Kathy) Rust of Cookeville; sister, Paulette Jump of Michigan and several nieces, nephews loved ones and friends.  Graveside services and interment will be 3:PM Monday, September 9, 2024 at DeKalb Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the Veterans Honor Guard.  Visitation will be on Monday 1:PM until 2:45, at which time Mr. Rust will be taken to the cemetery for the service.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to DeKalb Funeral Chapel to help with funeral expenses. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is honored to care for the Rust family.
