Emma Jean (Pinegar) Martin

Emma Jean Martin, age 98, passed away Wednesday February 22, 2023 at N H C of McMinnville.  She was born October 8, 1924 to her parents the late Robert and Novella Knowles Pinegar. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William David Martin; grandparents, Levi Dodd and DeLila Webb Pinegar, and Representative John Henry Savage and Catherine Taylor Knowles; brother, Ben Pinegar; sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth (Othel) Smith; niece Linda Smith. Ms. Martin was a Methodist and worked as a teacher with the DeKalb County School System for 44 years. She is survived by daughter, DeLila (Phillip) Prater of Springfield, VA; niece, Pier Vaughn of Nashville; and special Caregivers. Funeral services will be Friday February 24, 2023 at 1:00 PM with Bro. Michael Hale officiating and burial to follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Thursday 3:00 PM till 6:00PM and on Friday 11:00AM until the time of the service at 1:00PM. In addition to flowers donations may be made to Justin Potter Library. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
