Emma Jean Parker Vanatta of the Snow Hill Community, passed away Tuesday morning, October 22, 2024 at NHC HealthCare of Smithville. She was born in Liberty to her parents, the late Euen Everett and Effie Viola Gilley Parker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. "Buck" Vanatta; sister, Aunia Bell Vanatta and nephew, Kennith Vanatta. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She is survived by extended family and friends. Funeral services will be 1:PM Thursday October 24, 2024 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Michael Hale officiating and burial will follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday 10:AM until the time of the service at 1:PM. A special "Thank You" to the staff of NHC HealthCare and Gentiva Hospice for the wonderful love and care shown to Emma Jean. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is honored to care for the Vanatta family.
