Evie Sue (Simmons) Walker

Evie Sue Walker age 83 of Smithville passed away Sunday morning, September 5, 2021 at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro.  She was born February 25, 1938 to her parents, the late Lesley and Lucal Simmons.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Walker; grandparents, Mary Blackburn, Lige Simmons and Bithie Crosslin; sisters, Bessie MaCory, Hope Simmons; brothers, Jerry, Donnie, Robert, James, Russell and Gerald.  She was a retired factory worker and a Baptist.  She leaves to cherish her memory, 7 children, Betty Neal, Rebecca Crank, Norma Neal, Judy Neal (Aron) Highsmith, Sandra Neal, Leon Neal and Jeff Neal; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sisters, Shelia McCumbers, Marrie Brandon and Mary Jane Smith and brother, Randy Simmons; several nieces and nephews and her CNA, Peggy Tramel.  Funeral services will be 10:AM Thursday, September 9, 2021 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Tony Smith officiating and burial will follow in Whorton Springs Cemetery.  Visitation will be Wednesday 4:PM until 7:PM and Thursday 9:AM until the time of the service at 10:AM.  The funeral home lounge is closed at this time and no food or drinks are allowed in the funeral home.  DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
