Georgie Cripps age 95 of Alexandria passed away at her residence Monday, April 1, 2026. She was born September 30, 1930, to her parents the late Herbert and Vada Hayes Hendrixson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas "Tom" Cripps; sisters, Brownie Jean Curtis and Mattie Jo McGinnis. Ms. Georgie lived a selfless life loving the Lord and serving others. She was a life-long member of Elizabeth Chapel Baptist Church and was homemaker. She is survived by her daughter, Tammye (Gary) Whitaker of Lebanon; grandchildren, Matthew (Lindsey) Whitaker of Carthage and Tyler (Rebecca) Whitaker of Lebanon; five great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Saturday April 4, 2026, at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Bill Robertson and Ben Johnson officiating and burial to follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday 10 AM until the time of the service at 1 PM. The family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to Ms. Georgie's caregivers, Barbara, Carletta, Zita, as well as her hospice nurses Leila, Lindsy and Lorrie. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to Elizabeth Chapel Baptist Church Children's Ministry. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is honored to care for the Cripps family.
