Gracie Lucille Bratcher age 93, of Smithville passed away Thursday night July 23, 2026, at NHC HealthCare in Smithville. She was born June 20, 1933, in Smithville to her parents the late, Floyd & Lona Mai Curtis Lawson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Billy Jack Bratcher; son, Milton Wallace Bratcher; and special nephew, Michael Campbell. Ms. Bratcher was a member of the Old Fashion Freewill Baptist Church and retired from Judkins Nursery. She is survived by four step-grandchildren, Jennifer (Nelson) Davis, Jimmy (Nikki) Martin, Chris (Barbara) Martin all of Smithville and Allen (Roberta) Wilkerson of Ohio; eight great-grandchildren, Leah & Ian Davis, Braden, Kiley, Nate, Destiny, Gavin, Keely, Briley and Peyton: two great-great grandchildren; sister, Mai Nell Melton; daughter-in-law, Cynthia Bratcher; best friends, Judy Alsup and Pam Bratcher; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Monday July 27, 2026, at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. David Bratcher officiating with burial to follow at Banks Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday 10 AM until the time of the service at 2 PM. The family would like to express a special "Thank You" to Gentiva Hospice and NHC Healthcare for the love and care shown to Ms. Gracie. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations to be made to Banks Cemetery in memory of Ms. Gracie. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is honored to care for the Bratcher family.
