James Edward Stanley

Mr. James Edward Stanley age 93 of Smithville, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 29, 2021 at his residence.  He was born September 1, 1928 to his parents, the Howard and Inez Turner Stanley.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dean Stanley; daughter, Paulette Bain; son, Steve Stanley; grandson, Stevie Stanley; 1 great-grandbaby; 4 brothers, J P Stanley, Landon Stanley, W T Stanley and Dickie Stanley; 2 sisters, Neidra Dickson and Evelyn Melton.  He was a faithful member of the Smithville Church of Christ and a farmer.  He leaves to cherish his memory, 5 grandchildren, Lori (Manuel) Ramirez of Smithville, Jamie (Arturo) Ramirez of Smithville, Tammy Moser of Nashville, Paul Stanley of Blues Hill and Jimmy Pirtle of Smithville; son-in-law, Randy Bain of Smithville; 16 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.  Funeral services will be 11:AM Thursday December 2, 2021 at the Smithville Church of Christ with Bro. Dan Gulley officiating and burial will follow in Blues Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be Wednesday 3:PM until 7:PM at DeKalb Funeral Chapel and on Thursday 9:AM until the time of the service at 11:AM at the Smithville Church of Christ.  In addition to flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Mission Fund at the Smithville Church of Christ.  The funeral home lounge is closed at this time and no food or drinks are allowed in the funeral home.  DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
