Janet Lynn (Boatman) Ashford

Janet Lynn Boatman Ashford age 60 of Smithville, passed away Sunday morning, June 13, 2021 at her residence.  She was born November 14, 1960 to her parents, the late Larry Austin and Emma Elaine Tipton Boatman.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Randy Boatman.  She worked for over 13 years in housekeeping at Evins Mill Retreat.  She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, James Ashford of Smithville; 4 children, Michelle Hume and Chris Myers both of Sparta, Melissa Edmonds (Neal Young of Smithville and Kimberly (Jeremy) Reedy of Woodbury; 9 grandchildren, Gidean, Gabriel, and Gaige Hume, Austin and Justin Myers, Makayla, Matthias and Raivah Reedy and Jackson Ashford; 2 step-children, Alicia Curtis and Ricky Ashford, Jr.; 3 brothers, Larry "Eddie" Boatman of Pleasant View, TN, Carl "Toby" Harris of Mississippi, Jonathan "Scott" Brasfield of Sparta; 2 sisters, Laura Archer of Arkansas and Tammy Jenkins of Mississippi.  Funeral services will be 11:AM Thursday, June 17, 2021 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Dan Gulley officiating.  Graveside services will be 3:PM Thursday at Hilltop Cemetery in Centerville, TN.  Visitation will be Thursday 9:AM until the time of the service at 11:AM.  Due to Covid-19, the funeral home lounge is closed and no food or drinks are allowed in the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to DeKalb Funeral Chapel to help with funeral expenses, in memory of Janet.  DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
