Jason Daniel Tallent

Jason Daniel Tallent age 38 passed away at his residence on July 14, 2021. He was born November 3, 1982 to his mother, Hanneke Beets of Netherlands and his father, the late Odie Harrison Tallent.  In addition to his father he was preceded in death by grandparents, Pearl Hutchings and Odie Brown Tallent; grandfather, Anton Arend Cornelis Beets "Opa". Mr. Tallent worked for the City of Smithville. He is survived by 1 son, Nicholas Hayden Tallent of Murfreesboro; mother, Hanneke Beets of Netherlands; grandmother, Gijsbert Everdine Hendrika Cornelli Sloots Overeem "Oma"; step-mother, Patricia Tallent of Smithville; brother, Josh (Jennifer) Tallent of Smithville; step-brothers, Javon Ross Hendrixson of Smithville, Louis Taft Hendrixson, III, of Smithville; step-sister, Jill Marie Goneke of Smithville; niece and nephews, Nicholas Anthony Pendleton, Brantley Grayson Goneke, and Paris Monroe Grigsby; several aunts and uncles also survive. A Memorial service will be held Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 11:00 AM at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with burial in Old Bybee Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday 9:00 AM until the service at 11:00 AM. Due to COVID-19 the funeral home lounge is closed and NO food or drinks are allowed in the funeral home. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
