Jean (Pursell) Neal

Jean Neal age 85 of Liberty, passed away Saturday morning, June 24, 2023 at NHC HealthCare Center in Smithville.  She was born March 18, 1938 to her parents, the late William and Dexie Pursell.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Paul Neal; sisters-in-law, Linda Pursell, Billie (Houston) Herman and Mary Frances (James) Hale.  Jean was retired from Horace Mall in Nashville and worked for 7 years with the DeKalb County Schools Transportation Department.  She was a faithful member of the Salem Baptist Church.  She is survived by brothers, J.T. (Peggy) Pursell of Liberty and Dale Pursell of Liberty; sister, Marie (Dale) Malone of Mt. Juliet; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.  She was the matriarch of the family and lived out a Godly virtuous woman.  Funeral services will be 1:PM Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Don Mathis and Bro. Wilson Williams officiating and burial will follow in Salem Cemetery.  Visitation will be Monday 4:PM until 8:PM and Tuesday 10:AM until the time of the service at 1:PM.  DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
