Jerry Wayne McCormick age 75 of Smithville, was born August 29, 1950, and went home to be with the Lord on Thursday morning, December 25, 2025, at his home in Smithville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Faye Brown McCormick and a brother, Ricky McCormick. Jerry was a U.S. Army Veteran, worked as an aircraft mechanic and was a member of the Buckners Chapel Church. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 41 years, Libby McCormick of Smithville; 4 daughters, Adrienne McCormick and Ashley McCormick both of Smithville, Christina Brown, and Teri Keith of Bristol; grandchildren, Sebastian McCormick, Dalton Keith and Dylan Keith; brother, Bobby McCormick of Lawrenceburg, sister, Brenda McCormick of Westmoreland, sister-in-law, Debbie (Van) Mathis of Liberty; brother-in-law, Jeff (Michelle) Parsley of Nashville and several nieces and nephews. The family has honored Jerry's request to be cremated, and a Memorial Service will be held 2 PM Sunday, December 28, 2025, at Buckners Chapel Church with Darrell Gill and Grant Goodwin officiating. Visitation with the family will be on Sunday from 1 PM until the time of the service at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to DeKalb Funeral Chapel to help with funeral expenses, in memory of Jerry. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is honored to care for the McCormick family.
