John W. Alsup

Mr. John Alsup age 78 of Dowelltown passed away Thursday June 25, 2020 at his residence. He was born April 28, 1942 to his parents, the late Lillard Jacob, and Mary Carmine Alsup. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Alsup and a brother, Sonny Alsup.  Mr. Alsup served in the United States Air Force, he was a car dealer and he attended The Old Fashioned Free Will Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Judy Alsup of Dowelltown; sons, John Miller Alsup  of Dowelltown and Jacob Lee Alsup of Brentwood; sister, Pam Alsup of Murfreesboro; brother, Jerry Alsup of Murfreesboro. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday June 28, 2020 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Mark Miller officiating and burial to follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday 4:P.M. until 7:P.M. and on Sunday 10:A.M. until the time of the service at 2:P.M. Due to COVID-19, the Governors Executive Order 38 and Social Distancing Guidelines; Our pews in the Chapel are marked off to respect the guidelines and allow approximately 100-125 people for the service, we ask for the health and safety of everyone that you please exercise Social Distancing. The Funeral Home Lounge is Closed and NO Food or Drinks  allowed in the funeral home. The Funeral Service will be live-streamed on DeKalb Funeral Chapel Facebook page. In lieu of flowers the family ask donations be made to the DeKalb Animal Coalition or to the charity of your choice, donations may be made at the funeral home. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
