Larry Wayne Norrod

Larry Wayne Norrod age 73 of Smithville, passed away Thursday night July 11, 2024, at his residence.  He was born August 21, 1950, to his parents, the late Claude Norrod and Rosie Hale Norrod Simmons.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Norrod and sister, Phyllis Jones.  He was a truck driver for 45 years and a member of the New Union The Baptist Church.  Funeral services for Mr. Norrod will be held 4:PM Sunday July 14, 2024, at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bros. Danny Hale and Michael Hale officiating and burial to follow in the New Union Cemetery.  Visitation with the family will be Sunday 10:AM until the time of service at 4:PM.  Mr. Norrod is survived by his wife of 54 years Phyllis Norrod of Smithville; 2 Sons: Jared Norrod, Jamie (Adrea) Norrod all of Smithville; Granddaughter: Lakelyn Norrod; Half-sister: Paula Rogers of McMinnville; Sisters-in-law: Bettie Micheal, Helen (Doug) Smoot all of Smithville; Brother-in-law: Charles Jaco of Smithville; Several nieces and nephews also survive.  DeKalb Funeral Chapel is honored to serve the Norrod family.
