Mary Anita Houk age 68 of Smithville, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday July 5, 2022, at St. Thomas DeKalb Hospital ER. Anita was born July 16, 1953, to her parents, the late LeRoy and Mary Ethel Taylor Curtis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Curtis. She was a member of the Smithville First Freewill Baptist Chruch and a retired secretary with the Soil Conservation having worked 17 years. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Bernard Houk of Smithville; 2 daughters, Mary (Tommy) Melton and Jennifer (Jason) Winchester both of Smithville; 4 grandchildren, Justin (Chloe) Winchester, Keri Winchester, Taylor Patterson and Lucas Winchester; 1 sister, Delilah (Lillard) Barrett of Lebanon; 1 brother, Danny (Peggy) Curtis of Smithville. Funeral services will be 1:PM Thursday, July 7, 2022, at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Frank Bratcher officiating and burial will follow in Banks Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday 12 Noon until 8:PM and Thursday 10:AM until the time of the service at 1:PM. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
