Michael Lorimer Edwards

Michael Lorimer Edwards, age 47 of Smithville, passed away Friday May 26, 2023, at St. Thomas DeKalb Hospital. He was born December 26, 1975,  to his mother, Megan Edwards and late father, Robert Michael Eaton. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Morgan Eaton. Mr. Edwards was of the Non-Denominational Faith and had a love for music and building guitars. He is survived by his wife, Penny Edwards of Smithville; children, Cori Edwards, Kayla Cook, Maddie Cook all of Smithville; grandchildren, Nevaeh and Charles Derrick and Annalise Dale; mother and stepfather, Megan and Lynn Edwards of Murfreesboro; sisters, Abby (Justin) Vance of Murfreesboro, Rachel (Justun) Durham of Old Hickory; brother, David (Dani) Edwards of Murfreesboro; grandmother, Betty Edwards of Springfield. Funeral services will be 2:PM Thursday, June 1, 2023, at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Sam Allen and Bro. Michael Hale officiating and burial to follow in DeKalb Cemetery with Bro. John Cain officiating. Visitation will be Thursday June1, 2023 at 10:AM until the time of the service at 2:PM. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to DeKalb Funeral Chapel to help with funeral expenses. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
