Opal (Webb) Jones

Opal Webb Jones age 87 of Smithville, passed away peacefully Sunday night July 20, 2025, at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro. She was born October 7, 1937 in Smithville.  She was preceded in death her parents, Joseph and Sallie Turner Webb; husband, Linzie Jones; brother, Edward Webb.  Ms. Jones worked as an Insurance Agent and was a Methodist. Opal lived a full life where you could usually find her on the golf course or cooking for her large family gatherings that she loved hosting. She cared deeply for her family and was a woman of strong faith who will be deeply missed by the community.  She is survived by children, Rickey Carroll (Connie) Hullett of Clarksville, Steven Dwayne (Rhonda) Hullett of Rockvale, and Tammy Mechele Buida of Smithville; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Wednesday July 23, 2025, at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Jon Porter and Bro. Michael Hale officiating and interment to follow in Jefferson Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday July 23, 2025, 11 AM until the time of the service at 1 PM at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is honored to care for the Jones family.
