Peggy Lynn (Vaughn) Cantrell

Peggy Lynn Cantrell age 66, of Smithville, passed away Thursday October 3, 2024, at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. She was born February 25, 1958, to her parents the late, Austin and Mandy Edna Pedigo Vaughn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Anderson. Peggy was a member of New Home Missionary Baptist Church and worked at Timers and the Shirt Factory. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Kenneth Cantrell of Smithville; daughter, Hillary (Mark) Gould of Atlantic, NC., grandchildren, Mark Gould, JR, Caleb Gould, Sarah Gould; 2 sisters, Jackie Jones of Smithville, and Patricia McCormick of Smithville; nieces and nephews, Eddie (Lisa) Anderson, Kevin (Deanna) Jones, Jason (Candice) Jones, Mandy McCormick, Jonathan McCormick; several great and great-great nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service will be held 4:PM Sunday October 6, 2024, at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Bobby Lee Hale officiating. Visitation will be Sunday 12: Noon until the time of the service at 4:PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation in memory of Mrs. Peggy. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is honored to care for the Cantrell family.
