Robert Wayne "Butch" Haley

Robert Wayne "Butch" Haley age 82 of Smithville, passed away Thursday morning, February 5, 2026 at St. Thomas DeKalb Hospital in Smithville.  He was born September 3, 1943 to his parents, the late Robert Eston and Mary Juanita Davis Haley.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Earl Haley; sister, Carolyn Haley (Arnie) Sotke;  brother, Paul Gentery Haley and brother-in-law, Bill Goff.  Butch was a member of Outreach Baptist Church and a businessman having owned various businesses, with being in auto sales for over 50 years.  He was a U S Army Veteran and participated in various veteran organizations and was a former member of the Lions and Elk clubs.  He is survived by three siblings, Pat Haley Goff, David (Marsha) Haley and Vicki Haley; son, Douglas Edward Haley; his partner for 20 years, Diana Childress; grandchildren, Colby (Savannah) Haley and Cali (Jesse) Liebelt; great-grandchildren, Charlette Liebelt and Lillian Liebelt; special niece, Kristian Elkins; special friend, Judy Murray and mother of his sons, Mary Dianne Provine.  Funeral services honoring Butch's life will be held 2:30 PM Sunday, February 8, 2026 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Nathan Thomason, Joe Moyer and Bro. Michael Hale officiating and burial will follow in the Griffith Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Veterans Honor Guard.  Visitation will be Sunday 12 Noon until the time of the service at 2:30 PM.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Outreach Baptist Church, in memory of Butch.  DeKalb Funeral Chapel is honored to care for the Haley family.
