Ronald Jay Carter

Ronald Jay Carter age 69 of Smithville, passed away Wednesday December 25, 2024, at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro.  He was born September 21, 1955, to his parents, Rubbie Carter and the late R.J. Carter.  He was retired from Carrier Corp. and a member of Mt. Herman Baptist Church.  In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by wife Debra Carter.  Funeral services will be held 2:PM Sunday at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Steve Keaton officiating and burial to follow in the Peeled Chestnut Cemetery.  Visitation with the family will be Saturday 2:PM until 6:PM and Sunday 10:AM until the time of the service at 2:PM.  Survivors include Daughter: Jayme (Nathan) Dowell of Smithville; Son: Ronald Joshua Carter of Smithville; Grandchildren: Ryan Carter, Ethan Carter, Izayah Dowell, Kylynn Dowell; Mother: Rubbie Carter of Smithville; Sister: Lynn (Larry) Eaton of Smithville; Nephew: Hugh (Chassity) Eaton of Smithville; Great niece: Allie Eaton.  DeKalb Funeral Chapel is honored to care for the Carter Family.
