Timothy Yokom Obituary

January 16, 1952 – December 12, 2025

Timothy J. Yokom, of Smithville, Tennessee, went home peacefully on Friday, December 12, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on January 16, 1952, Tim spent his life building a legacy of hard work, devotion, and a deep love for his family and friends.

Tim began his career in the women’s shoe business, a family tradition passed down from his father to Tim and his brother. Their high-quality shoes were sold in several of Nashville’s most well-known high-end stores, including Grace’s, Chester’s, and Jamie’s. Tim carried forward the Yokom family tradition with pride and dedication.

Later in life, Tim and his wife Sherri opened Monogramming by Sherri, expanding to multiple stores throughout Tennessee and Kentucky. Their final store found its home in Smithville, TN, where they built not only a thriving business but a place filled with creativity, friendship, and community spirit.

After retiring, Tim fully embraced the joys of life. He loved living on a houseboat, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his grandchildren, who were his greatest delight. Tim also enjoyed entertaining and cherished his regular poker nights with neighborhood friends.

Tim was preceded in death by his father, William Cecil Yokom; his mother, Anne Orlic Yokom; his brother, Patrick Yokom; and his precious great-granddaughter, Lilah Pewitt.

He leaves behind the love of his life and wife of 38 wonderful years, Sherri Yokom, as well as four beloved children:

Kimberly Rogers (Kerry) and grandson Mason

Jennifer Brown (Scott) and grandchildren Savanna (Tony) Pewitt, Gatlin (Jenny), and great-grandchildren Will, Lilah, Walker, Teddy, Memphis, Jensen

Richie Tatum (Triana) and grandchildren Hunter, Natalia, Sebastian, and Gabriel

Katie-Anne Mires (Luke) and grandchildren Sloan and Shay

Tim’s legacy is one of love, laughter, generosity, and faith. He was a man who made everyone feel welcome, always ready with a smile, a story, or a seat at the table. His memory will be forever cherished by the many lives he touched.

The family will have a private spreading of his ashes this spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Tim’s honor.
