Toy B. Chapman age 88 of Gassaway, went home to be with the Lord on Friday morning, December 5, 2025, at his grandson's home in Smithville. He was born July 19, 1937, to his parents, the late Horace H. and Susie F. Vanatta Chapman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dean Chapman; four brothers, William, Buster, Jess and Edwinea Chapman and sister, Maudie Thomason. He was a retired factory worker having worked in maintenance and was a lifelong farmer. Toy B was a Methodist and attended Clearfork United Methodist Church. He is survived by a daughter, Kathy (Doug) Summers of Liberty; grandsons, Dale (Jen) Simmons of McMinnville, Albert (Abigail) Summers of Smithville and Robin Summers of Smithville; four great granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Emily Simmons, Hailey and Johnna Summers; great-great-grandson, River Church; brother, Cordell Chapman of Smithville and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 1 PM Monday, December 8, 2025, at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Michael Hale officiating and burial will follow in Gunter-Grizzle Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be on Sunday 1 PM until 6 PM and Monday 9 AM until the time of the service at 1 PM. In addition to flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Smithville First Assembly of God Youth Group or a youth group of your choice.
