Vickie Diane (Knowles) Burton

Vickie Burton age 72 passed away Thursday morning, June 4, 2026, at The Webb House in Smithville.  She was born November 21, 1953, to her parents the late L. D. and Gladys Odom Knowles.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Walter and Emma Burton; aunts and uncles, Elene Miller Cripps Hayes and Hoyte Odom, Lewis Knowles, Macon Judkins, Ollie Womack, Dollie Foutch.  Ms. Vickie was a member of Whorton Springs Baptist Church.  She came from a family of teachers, and her passion was teaching and especially teaching the multiplication tables.  Vickie taught at Smithville Elementary school for 31 years.  She is survived by her husband of 51+ years, Walter Burton of Smithville; son, Brandon (Kelly) Burton of Knoxville; two grandchildren Brock and Knox Burton; many cousins and friends also survive.  Graveside service and entombment will be held 7 PM Saturday June 6, 2026, at DeKalb Memorial Gardens with Bro. Jimmy Arms and Bro. Terry Little officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday 5 PM until 6:45 PM at DeKalb Funeral Chapel.  In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to the Vickie Burton Memorial at Whorton Springs Baptist Church in memory of Ms. Vickie.  DeKalb Funeral Chapel is honored to care for the Burton family.
