Wallace Leon Johnson age 82 of Liberty, passed away Friday night August 9, 2024, at NHC Healthcare in Smithville. He was born August 4, 1942, to his parents the late Charles Franklin and Nonnie Bell Mathis Johnson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Bryan Johnson and brother, Billy Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a member of Cave Springs Missionary Baptist Church and was a construction worker. He is survived by wife, Joyce Johnson of Liberty; children, David (Emily) Johnson of Murfreesboro, Kim (Michael) Riley of Sparta, Rhonda (Charlie) Caplinger of Smithville, Sissy Johnson Cooper of Smithville and Mandi Parker of McMinnville; 12 grandchildren, Dustin, Hayden, Holly, Kady, Nikki, Matthew, Jonathan, Michael, Jennifer, Colby, Braxton and Bryan; 21 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Judy Johnson of Liberty. Funeral services will be 3:PM Monday August 12, 2024, at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Elder Steven Brooks and Bro. Micheal Hale officiating and burial will follow in Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday 11:AM until the time of the service at 3:PM. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is honored to care for the Johnson family.
