Waylon Butcher Obituary

Waylon Tate Butcher passed peacefully in the loving arms of his mother and father on June 5, 2026.  He was born at 11:46 AM on Wednesday June 3, 2026, and met the eyes of Jesus at 7:34 PM on Friday June 5, 2026.

Waylon was the cherished son of Mackenzie Centeno and Jade Butcher of Smithville.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandfather, Timothy Martin, great-grandmother, Ina Faye Harbin and great uncle, Cory Martin.  Left to treasure his memory, in addition to his parents are his paternal grandparents, Jeremy Butcher of McMinnville and Beverly (Kenny) Murphy of Smithville; great-grandparents, Gary (Trish) Butcher of McMinnville and Ann (Wesley) Jones of McMinnville; his maternal grandparents, Jennifer Martin of Manchester and Chris Centeno of Manchester, great-grammy, Shirley Martin of Manchester, great-grandparents, Charley (Debbie) Centeno of California; uncles and aunts, Asher Centeno, Clayton Centeno, Jim Flesher III, Faidrah (John) Reed, Jada Butcher and Jaymee Butcher; along with many other loving family members and friends.

Though Waylon's time on earth was brief, his impact was immeasurable.  He was a courageous little fighter who faced a severe and inoperable heart defect with remarkable strength.  In his short life, Waylon touched countless hearts and brought love, hope and inspiration to all who knew him.  He left an imprint on the hearts of his family and loved ones that will never fade.  Waylon was loved more than words can express and will be dearly missed every day.  While his family grieves the loss of his precious life, they find comfort in knowing he is now resting peacefully in the arms of Jesus.

Funeral services will be 1 PM Thursday, June 11, 2026, at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Darrell Gill officiating and burial will follow in DeKalb Cemetery.  Visitation with the family will be on Thursday 10 AM until the time of the service at 1 PM.

"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."  Matthew 19:14.
