Luther Maxie Colwell

Luther Maxie Colwell age 67 of Lawrenceburg and a native of DeKalb County, passed away Thursday evening, November 7, 2019 at Lewis County Nursing and Rehab.  He was born April 19, 1952 in Smithville to his parents, the late George B. and Virgie L. Gay Colwell.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Leona Colwell; daughter, Torie Stacey and 1 brother, Lonnie Colwell.  Maxie was retired from the State of Tennessee in the Transportation Dept.  He is survived by 1 son, Shawn Colwell of Smithville; 2 grandchildren, Taylor and Cody; 2 sisters, Fay (Tip) Melton of Killen, AL and Geneva (Jack) Tidrick of Murfreesboro; several nieces, nephews and cousins.  Funeral services will be 1:PM Saturday, November 9, 2019 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Wallace Caldwell officiating and burial will follow in Hillview Cemetery in Alexandria.  Visitation will be Saturday 9:AM until the time of the service at 1:PM..  DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
