COVID-19 Funeral Assistance

FEMA has announced that they will begin accepting applications for Funeral Assistance on MONDAY, APRIL 12th through their dedicated call center.  We at DeKalb Funeral Chapel will be glad to assist you with calling to get the application completed and then help with filing the required documentation.  If you choose to apply yourself there are certain guidelines for applying, who can apply, what is covered and who is not qualified to receive reimbursement.  For any reimbursement, the death certificate must indicate the death was caused by, may have been caused by or was likely the result of COVID-19 or COVID-19 like symptoms.  The maximum allowed is $9,000 per funeral.  You may call our office during normal business hours of Monday - Friday 9:AM - 4:PM and Wednesday 9:AM - 12:Noon at 615-597-9400 and we will schedule a time for you to come in or answer any questions you have.  We are here to help each family with this process, so feel free to call with any questions or concerns.
