Nonnie Bell (Mathis) Johnson

Nonnie Bell Johnson age 96 of Liberty went home to be with the Lord, Monday morning June 24, 2019 at NHC HealthCare Center in Smithville.  She was born March 2, 1923 to her parents, the late Robert Vernon "Bob" and Willie Mammie Adamson Mathis.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Johnson; son, Billy Johnson; 2 grandsons, Tony Johnson and Bryan Johnson; brothers, J.C. Mathis and Carl Mathis.  Nonnie Bell was a member of Cave Springs Missionary Baptist Church and a caregiver.  She leaves to cherish her memory, 1 son, Wallace (Joyce) Johnson of Liberty; daughter-in-law, Judy Johnson of Liberty; 7 grandchildren, Teresa (Larry) Caldwell, David (Emily) Johnson, Rhonda (Charles) Caplinger, Sissy (Craig) Cooper, Trena (Tony) Collins, Travis (Brandi) Johnson, Mandi Parker and Kim Carr; 3 step-grandchildren, 1 step-great-grandchild; 19 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be 11:AM Wednesday at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bros. Stephen Brooks and Michael Hale officiating and burial will follow in Salem Cemetery in Liberty.  Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday 1:PM until 8:PM and Wednesday 9:AM until the time of the service at 11:AM.  DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
