Donald Kelly Byrge

Donald Kelly Byrge age 67, of Smithville passed away at his residence on Thursday November 10, 2022. He was born June 14, 1955, to his parents, the late Glenus Hoyte Byrge and Lola Mae Rowlett Byrge Harcrow. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jeannette Shelton. Mr. Byrge worshiped with First Freewill Baptist Church; he was 24 years retired Master Sergeant of the United States Air Force and worked as a Postal Carrier. He is survived by his wife, Anita Kay Melton Byrge of Smithville; children, Matthew Kelly (Jessica Slatten) Byrge of Washington, Cynthia Michelle Davis of Sparta, Nick James Byrge of Smithville and Kaylee Rose Byrge of Smithville; granddaughters, Aleka Michelle (Eric Kyle) Rice of Sparta, and Maylee Grace Curtis of Sparta; many other loving family members also survive; special mother-in-law, Mainell Melton. Graveside service and interment was held Saturday November 12, 2022, at DeKalb Memorial Gardens with Bro. Clint Walker officiating and Military Honors conducted by the Veterans Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in memory of Mr. Donald. The family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to the Veterans Honor Guard and to Michael Hale and the staff at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
