Kenneth Wayne Owens

Kenneth Wayne Owens age 79 of Dowelltown passed away Tuesday night, December 29, 2020 at St. Thomas DeKalb Hospital ER.  He was born July 22, 1941 in London, KY to her parents, the late Lewis and Retha Sharp Owens.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 siblings, Kelly Owens, Elbert Owens, Lizzie Owens  and Johnny Owens.  He was a Baptist, U.S. Army Veteran and worked at Nissan for over 30 years.  He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jean Owens of Dowelltown; 4 children, Michelle Curtis of Dowelltown, Patrick Conners and Michael Conners both of Smithville and Teresa Owens of Kentucky; grandchildren, Crystal (James) Bogard, Cody Curtis, Colton Curtis, Destiny Conners, Mikey Conners and Ashley; great-granddaughters, Hannah Bogard, Brooklyn Barnes, Carissa, Brennon and Rachel; brother, Henry (Gail) Owens of Kentucky and sister, Letha (Glen) Price of Indiana; special friends, Doug and April Barnes .  Graveside services will be 2:PM Saturday, January 2, 2021 at DeKalb Cemetery with Bro. Michael Hale officiating and military honors conducted by the Veterans Honor Guard.  There will not be any visitation or services held at the funeral home, family and friends will meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.  Due to Covid-19, please exercise social distancing for the health and safety of everyone.  DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
