A Memorial Service for Merle Fred Stralow was held on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at the Alexandria First Baptist Church with Bro. Billie Friel officiating.
Mr. Stralow age 87, passed away Friday, October 18, 2019 in McMinnville, Tennessee. Merle was born in Morrison, Illinois on June 6, 1932 to his parents, the late Fred August and Edna Arians Stralow. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael J. Stralow; daughter, Sandra K. Bailey; sister, Corinne Richmond; his wife, Cheryl Stralow and son, Joel P. Stralow.
Mr. Stralow served in the United States Naval Reserve. He attended First Baptist Church in Alexandria, Tennessee, where he was a choir member. He retired in 1997 from James Simon Cement Contracting, Indio, California.
He is survived by a daughter, Cynthia (Ron) Berghoefer of California; grandchildren, Bryan (Gloria) Berghoefer of California, Corey (Kailene) Berghoefer of Georgia, Megan (Matt) Vorwald of Iowa; daughters of deceased wife Cheryl Stralow, Christine Parr-Milliken of Tennessee, Kelly (Ken) Straw of California; brothers, Lowell Stralow of Iowa, Roger Stralow of Illinois, Gilbert (Renee) Stralow of Illinois and Larry Stralow of California; numerous nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren and his dear special friend, Helen Edwards and her family of Tennessee.
An inurnment will be held in Clinton, Iowa at Lemke Funeral Home Cemetery at a later date.
DeKalb Funeral Chapel in Smithville, Tennessee was in charge of the arrangements.
