Shirley Ann (Prater) Joslyn

Shirley Ann Joslyn age 77 of Smithville passed away Monday night June 7, 2021 at her residence.  She was born April 1, 1944 to her parents, the late Dub and Florence Davenport Prater.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Ann Cantrell; grandson, Jacob Cantrell and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Chuck and Betty Walker.  Shirley was saved as a young girl and was a Baptist.  She worked in housecleaning and was also a babysitter.  She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 55 years, Raymond Eugene Joslyn of Smithville; daughter, Alice (Paul) Hutchens of Smithville; son-in-law, Ricky Cantrell of Smithville; grandchildren, Ashley (Raymond) Lippart, Andrew (Gennie) Hutchens, Tiffany (Bobby) Price, Bridget (Rainy) Howell, Matthew Cantrell, Hayle (Anthony) Cantrell, and Jade Cantrell; great-grandchildren, Raymond Lippart, IV, Haven Howell, Rainy Howell, Jr, Raleigh Cantrell and Alexander Mofield.  Funeral services will be 11:AM Friday June 11, 2021 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Michael Hale officiating and burial will follow at DeKalb Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will be Thursday 4:PM until 7:PM and Friday 9:AM until the time of the service at 11:AM.  Due to Covid-19, the funeral home lounge is closed at this time and no food or drinks are allowed in the funeral home.  DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
